Meet Chef Saul Gerson

Private Argentine cooking instructor in Buenos Aires

For Chef Saul Gerson, a cooking class is not only about following a recipe. It is about understanding the food, the stories behind each dish, and the way Argentines share a meal. Chef Saul Gerson

Saul Gerson is the chef and host behind Argentine Cooking Lessons, a private Argentine cooking experience in Buenos Aires where travelers cook, share local wines and enjoy a homemade dinner in a real local home. Born in the Argentine Pampas, Saul grew up surrounded by open fields, homemade food, family traditions and the generous hospitality of the countryside. Those early memories shaped the way he teaches today: simple food, real conversation and a warm table where guests feel welcome. Before becoming a chef, Saul trained as an economist and spent many years working in different fields, from public service to rural life in the Argentine countryside. For more than 15 years, he managed a large ranch, where he became deeply familiar with gaucho traditions, Argentine beef, homemade cooking and the culture of long meals shared around the table.

A Turning Point

A Turning Point

In 1991, Saul left his career as an economist and began a new path that brought him closer to nature, food, teaching and hospitality.

That change shaped the way he hosts today: with simplicity, warmth, honest cooking and a genuine interest in every guest who sits at his table.

From El Arte de Amasar to Argentine Cooking Lessons

In 2010, Saul founded El Arte de Amasar, his long-running culinary project and one of Argentina’s most visited cooking blogs.

Years later, he created Argentine Cooking Lessons to welcome international travelers into a more personal setting: private cooking classes in Buenos Aires, hosted in English or Spanish, with Argentine food, local wines, conversation and homemade dinner.

Today, his experiences include a private Argentine cooking class and dinner, a cooking class with tango lesson, and a premium wine tasting and cooking experience.

Why Travelers Cook with Chef Saul

Travelers choose Chef Saul because his private cooking classes in Buenos Aires feel personal, relaxed and deeply connected to Argentine food culture.

Each experience is hosted in a real local home, where guests cook traditional Argentine dishes from scratch, share local wines, ask questions and enjoy a homemade dinner around the table.

For many visitors, it becomes more than a cooking class: it is a warm introduction to Buenos Aires, Argentine hospitality and the stories behind the food.

A Personal Way to Discover Argentine Food

For Chef Saul Gerson, a cooking class is not only about following a recipe. It is about understanding the food, the stories behind each dish, and the way Argentines share a meal.
